This makes me glad that I'm 60 and closing in on retirement. I've worked in government for the last 27 years, the last 7 in TWA union. My father had worked for Hostess as a mechanic and you know what happened with them.
This work has payed me very well and I appreciate it. The union has kept us full time and accelerated top pay.
There are negotiations under way right now and I'm hoping our negotiators, if they are looking to UAW or Kaiser for ideas, that our people only take the good ones for the good of the people that work AND for whom we work, the public.
There is apathy in our workforce, even with the life changing pay that is garnered for us.
