Insofar as ol' Scranton Joe reading Bibi the riot act on Gaza, you can file that idea in the drawer labeled 'Fantasy and Make Believe.' I recently read somewhere that American Jews, who make up about 3% of the US population, contribute 50% of campaign donations for the Democrat Party. Even if that metric overstates reality, it is a given that Jewish money is a big deal for the Democrats.
If Joe enables Bibi in his slaughter of tens of thousands of Palestinians, that is a small price to pay in his mind to keep the money spigots open, especially in an election year. Joe sheds crocodile tears and drops a few frozen TV dinners by parachute into Gaza in his effort to convince Muslim voters in Michigan not to abandon him in November. However, he will continue to use the US veto in the UNSC to give Israel diplomatic cover to do whatever they want to do. Frankly, Bibi and the Israeli leadership don't care what Joe thinks.
And let it be said that Trump and Nikki are no different; they would be just as rabid in their support of Israel if they were in the Oval Office. AIPAC has the executive (regardless of party) and the Congress on a short leash (sit, beg, roll over, play dead, etc). Virtually no one strays off the reservation unless they have a wish to end their career in politics.
"I recently read somewhere that American Jews, who make up about 3% of the US population, contribute 50% of campaign donations for the Democrat Party" - where did you read this? This sounds like something somebody just made up and put out there in hopes it would be believed. And please also note that Jewish Americans tend to be very supportive of Israel as a state with as much of a right to exist as any other, but NOT of the specific policies of the Netanyahu government. The political divergence between the mainly left-leaning American Jewish community and the mainly right-leaning Israeli Jewish community has been widening for some time now, and I think a solid majority of Jewish Americans would rather have had something better-planned and more beneficent towards civilians in response to 10/7. The Democratic Party and the American political landscape at large are not controlled by Jews of any viewpoint, and especially blatantly not by pro-Netanyahu Jews.
Did Mr. Prestowitz and I watch the same speech?
The independent journalist Patrick Lawrence and I certainly did:

You're trying to polish a turd here, Clyde. Listen to you're mom more. It's like saying Hitler looks pretty sharp except for the "genocide problem".
I understand the arms embargo, but the banks? Isn't that an over-reach at this point?
